CJ Ritchie, Assistant Deputy Minister, Economic Development (EDD) Division of the Ministry of Jobs, Trade and Technology in September 2016. The overall objective in EDD is to foster a strong and competitive investment climate that drives job creation and business opportunity and growth in BC.
With over 20 years in government, CJ has been instrumental in a number of transformative government initiatives. As Assistant Deputy Minister for the Mental Health Secretariat, CJ lead the development of a Mental Health strategy for government on behalf of seven Ministries. As Assistant Deputy Minister of Technology, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, CJ was responsible for the development of the #BC Tech strategy and creation of the Strategic Partnerships office which provided corporate leadership to a $5.8-billion portfolio of the Province of BC’s high value technology contracts. In addition to her public sector experience, CJ brings knowledge and experience from the private sector. CJ holds a Masters’ degree in Conflict Analysis and Management from Royal Roads University, two Bachelor degrees from the University of Victoria in Social Work and Psychology and has taken Advanced Negotiation courses with the Harvard School of Business.
