About the Event
From inspiring and provocative main stage talks, to dynamic interactions in the virtual UnConference and attendee lounge, the IdentityNORTH 2021 VIRTUAL Annual Summit provided over 430 diverse attendees with the opportunity to network, learn, and explore in new and exciting ways.
The Summit featured presentations from high profile global leaders including the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, Privacy Commissioners Michael Harvey, Michael McEvoy & Jill Clayton, and innovative organizations including Canadian Council of Innovators, UNCDF, & ID2020.
Together we tackled the BIG digital and human questions impacting our sector, our businesses, our communities, and our world within the three event themes of: Restarting the Economy, Global Interoperability and Opening Borders, and Growing Canada’s Digital Economy and Trade. We explored timely issues like vaccine passports, government security, ethics in biometric data collection, digital standards, procurement, mergers and acquisitions, and designing inclusive solutions.

Agenda
Why Attend IdentityNORTH Events?
IdentityNORTH was founded on a vision of building a community for the purpose of supporting 3 objectives:
Educate:
Inspire Canadians with a sense of the new opportunities presented by broad adoption of Digital ID as a foundational piece in our lives. We see a huge opportunity to grow our economy by building literacy around Digital ID, privacy, and the emergence of our digital economy.
Connect:
Guide Canadians into a bigger, broader set of discussions, and activities surrounding Digital ID and its applications. The solutions to the challenges and opportunities ahead likely already lie in exploring each other’s ideas, technology, and working together. We can’t work together if we don’t know each other. How better to really know someone than to learn from leaders, engage in lively discussion, explore new ideas and share meals together?
Promote:
Support world-class Canadian companies as they seek to gain profile and access to projects and opportunities across Canada and around the world. We Canadians punch above our weight, contributing seminal work like The 7 Laws of Identity, Privacy by Design, the widely adopted Levels of Assurance, and the Digital ID and Authentication Council of Canada. Unfortunately, we often export by exporting our people. IdentityNORTH will help Canadians to share our technology and architectures around the world and, in doing so, to also export our principles to help lead the world. We will help create a globally recognized hub of excellence here in Canada.
