Colleen McCormick (she/her) is Director of Connectivity and 7 Gen Partnerships with Coastal First Nations-Great Bear Initiative (seconded from her role as ED of Connected Communities with the Ministry of Citizens’ Services). After 18 years of working in the BC public service in the areas of community development, Indigenous tourism, social innovation and intrapreneurship, Colleen is now focused on addressing the digital divide through inclusion, digital readiness and tech empowerment. Colleen is passionate about community organizing and has led a number of grassroots mobilizing efforts as founder of Social Innovators Network, TEDxMileZero organizer, Board Member of Cortes Island’s Power of Hope Youth Arts Camp, member of BMW Foundation’s #ResponsibleLeaders Network, fellow of the Global League of Intrapreneurs, and most recently, volunteer for UVic’s CFUV 101.9 campus station. She holds an MBA from Royal Roads University, a Graduate Diploma in Social Innovation from the University of Waterloo, and Community Organizing Executive Certificate from Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
