Director of Information Security, Scotiabank
Jennifer Fernick is presently the Director of Customer Protection & Cryptographic Services at Scotiabank, and this fall will begin the fourth year of her PhD in Computer Science. She has been working on quantum-resistant cryptography since 2014. She holds a Master of Engineering in Systems Design Engineering (Waterloo) and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science & Artificial Intelligence (Toronto). She has previously spoken at venues like DEF CON, Blackhat, and RSA, on topics such as machine learning, computing on encrypted data, and post-quantum cryptography. Jennifer has had deep involvement in a number of industry, research, and standards organizations, and is an organizer for Crypto & Privacy Village at DEF CON.
