Linda Fares

Director,  Information Systems & Technology, Elections Nova Scotia

Linda Fares is an IT professional with more than 30 years of consulting and management experience. She joined Elections Nova Scotia in 2008 as the Director of Information Systems and Technology where she is responsible for managing the information of Nova Scotia electors, and the design, development and implementation of state-of-the-art IT portfolio of election management systems and technology that respond to the constant modernization of the electoral processes, while maintaining election readiness at all time and preserving the public confidence in the integrity of elections.  

In her previous careers in Jordan, she has owned and managed two companies that offered IT strategic consulting and software development services, and worked closely with international firms and donor-agencies to accomplish community development projects and streamlining of governmental IT processes and portfolios.  She has also worked for 10 years as the senior database administrator with Royal Jordanian Airlines, the national carrier of Jordan, where she managed the information warehouse and databases and ensured the business continuity of the airline.  

Linda holds an MBA and a Bsc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Jordan.
