Paul Shrimpton

Chief Information Officer, Ministry of Health, Province of BC

After spending several years in Ontario working in archival science, information management and shared services, Paul returned to his town of birth, Victoria, in 2006 to join the BC Ministry of Health.

Paul has led several large-scale projects, including the Provincial Laboratory Information System, Provincial Diagnostic Imaging and their integration into the CareConnect viewer, which continue to expand across the health system. Paul also led the development of the health system enterprise architecture program, and IMIT Enabling Strategy. His current focus is on digital health, with a strong interest in supporting citizens in how they access and navigate the health system.

Paul holds a Master of Information Studies from the University of Toronto.
